Your first acupuncture and shiatsu session can leave you feeling deeply relaxed, lighter in your body, and more connected to yourself. But it’s also common to experience unexpected sensations afterwards — all part of the healing process.

Here’s what to expect and what to do next:
1. You might feel sleepy, emotional, or energised
Everyone responds differently. You may feel calm and drowsy, clear-headed and alert, or even emotionally stirred. This is your body processing and rebalancing — allow it space to shift.
2. Drink plenty of water
Hydration helps your body flush out what it no longer needs and supports the energetic flow initiated in your session.
3. Rest and avoid stimulation
If possible, give yourself a quiet evening. Let the effects settle without distractions like alcohol, intense exercise, or screen time.
4. Gentle awareness of your body
Notice how you feel over the next few days. Physical, emotional, or energetic shifts can continue for up to 48 hours. Write them down if helpful.
